Governance Process Improvement
Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Every group gets stuck from time to time, even boards of directors. The problem is when there is little agreement about what to do differently. The Sandbar Group helps boards to understand the subtle challenges in governing and managing an organization and shows them how to get back on track, often with little effort.
Facilitation
We have all participated in meetings that did not produce positive results. The discussions seemed to go around in a circle without coming to a resolution. Not only can such meetings be frustrating, they can be very costly when thoughtful decisions need to be made.
A facilitator is someone who understands how groups can make decisions. Because they are not part of the group, facilitators can ask the naïve question or express what is on everyone’s mind but participants are afraid to say. A good facilitator can organize and improve the work of any group.
